What is Government Relations?
PHCC of Nevada’s government relations program provides the local p-h-c industry representation in Carson City, NV in a number of different areas, including mechanics liens, right to stop work and prompt pay.
The program provides PHCC of Nevada contractors with the tools they need to be aware of legislative proposals that impact their businesses on a state or local level.
In addition, the government relations program is home to the Nevada PHCC Political Action Committee (PAC).
The PAC is responsible for making campaign contributions to candidates who support the p-h-c industry in Nevada.
The government relations program is linked to the program at PHCC National and we work together to prevent the enactment of unfavorable legislation at the national level. The Capitol Exchange, an e-mail communications forum for PHCC members and national, state and local leaders to discuss legislative and regulatory issues, is available to all PHCC-National Association members, state and local associations. Finally, the government relations program will host a Legislative Day for all of our members in Carson City during the legislative session. This meeting offers contractors and staff an opportunity to participate first-hand in the legislative process and actually lobby their legislators on issues of concern to the member and PHCC of Nevada issues.
